In an effort to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of breast cancer through education on symptoms and treatment, Bahrain Indian School(BIS) organized Think Pink Week. The awareness was demonstrated by the use of pink color all around the school. The pink ribbon is the most prominent symbol of breast cancer awareness, and in many countries the month of October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The school gate was adorned with ribbons, balloons and decorations of pink. The teachers wore pink dresses and ‘Think Pink’ ribbons. The classrooms and the bulletin boards displayed the Breast Cancer Awareness information and facts. All the classrooms were decorated with pink color papers and slogans to generate awareness on Breast Cancer. The students designed posters, wrote information related to the breast cancer and designed ribbons for the teachers and parents. The corridors were all pink with colorful displays. Parents- teacher meet at BIS also triggered the vigor of ‘Think Pink’. To generate the awareness, the mothers were given pink ribbons with slogan Think Pink to be worn on their dress. Children distributed the ribbons to support the cause of the breast cancer thereby contributing to the community and the nation at large.
