Heena launched her career in education after acquiring her Bachelors in Child Development from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. She was driven by an unflinching conviction that Education can change lives. Her first job, as a primary teacher, was in a school promoted by Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Limited, in coastal town of Veraval in Western Saurashtra. Barely a year later, she found herself in the role of the virtual head of the school as she got an opportunity to take lead in day to day management for the school and prepare its strategic development plan.
A good teacher has to be a great student first. Heena kept pursuing studies and acquired degrees in art and education, as she completed her B. Ed., M. Ed., M. A. (English) and ultimately Ph.D., over next 10 years. During that period she joined Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s affiliated school at Wardha (Maharastra) as Head of English Department, and was soon promoted as academic coordinator for the school. In 2004, Dr Rachh was promoted to the position for Bhavan’s affiliated school at Nadiad, as she became the youngest School Principal in the Bhavans. Dr Rachh’s last assignment was as Principal, Zydus School For Excellence, Ahmedabad where she is credited with bringing transformational changes in academic and co-curricular activity levels of the school that went on to produce national toppers.
Dr Rachh has varied interests in sport, art and music. She is a state champion in lawn tennis and accredited long distance runner. She regularly offers seminars and leads workshops on various subjects ranging from training of teachers to art of parenting, i communication skills and Attitude Engineering at Ahmedabad Management Association, where she is also a member of Management Development Programs Committee. Dr Rachh is passionate about music and meditation and uses them for spiritual accomplishment. She is also a popular resource person for local TV channels in the area of education and counseling of students and parents.
She wanted to ‘Touch & Inspire Lives’ and she has gone a long way to achieve that goal.
